Biography

Mary Belle Cordell is a porcelain art teacher, certified by the World Organization of China painters. She has studied at the prestigious Penland School of Arts and Crafts, the Virginia Douglas School of Porcelain art in N. Carolina, and with many Internationally known art teachers. She is accomplished in several mediums but her first love is porcelain painting.

Mary Belle has broad experience in teaching porcelain painting and has been on the staff of the Boca Museum of Art the Art School in Boca Raton, Florida, and the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since moving to  Georgia she has been the featured artist teacher at the Magnolia Artist Guild and the Atlanta Porcelain artist guild.

Commissions by Mary Belle have included painting very large murals and installations on tiles and plates. She also has also been commissioned to paint glass lamps, small boxes, and vases from Limoges, France.

Mary Belle has recently been selected by the Georgia International Porcelain artists to display a porcelain painting in the international Porcelain artist museum located in Grapevine, texas. Porcelain art from all over the world is displayed there.

She recently became the 2022-2023 incoming president of the Georgia World Organization of China Painters.
 
Her portrait of Celeste is presently on view at the Marietta Cobb Museum of art in Marietta Georgia.

As a tribute to her fine eye, the works of Mary Belle are in several prestigious private collections including the collection of best-selling author Mary Higgins Clark and singer artist Tony Bennet.

 A winner of many awards from regional and National art shows, Mary Belle continues to inspire and promote the fine art of china painting.
