The china painting class will be held on Friday morning from 9am until 12pm. Beginners are welcome and will be encouraged by the teacher and other students. Mary Belle has been on the staff teaching china painting for 14 years. Her expertise in this fine art is extended to all of her students. All of your blank porcelain, brushes, paints,firing and solvents will be supplied to you in porcelain_art_example-3this class for a supply fee which is charged by the teacher each semester. You may paint on tiles, plates, small vases or trays, etc. Come and enjoy this fun class with other fun students.

Abstract Palette Knife Painting with Enamel and China Paint at the Boca Museum the Art School: Modern Porcelain Painting

Mary Belle Cordell will be teaching abstract palette knife painting with textured enamel which will be colored with china paint.  This powder will be mixed with a closed drying medium and will be painted with a palette knife on a 14 X 16 tile.  You will finish one tile in this class and will be able to pick up the kiln fired tile at the school in one week.  This class will be held on November 19, 2016, tuition: $110.00 Time 9:30am until 1:00pm.  There will be a material fee of $25 for this class. Mary Belle will be showing an example of this class and her china painting class at the open house at the school on August 27 from 1pm-4pm.  Address 801 W. Special Weekend Classes

Exciting workshops planned at the Boca Museum  Art School
by Mary Belle Cordell

Beginning in November, 2013, I will be teaching some very exciting workshops at the Boca Museum the Art School.  These workshops will be held on weekends so that most people may attend.

November 8-10, 2013: Hand painted Christmas ornaments, decorated which china paints, lusters and 14K gold.

January 25-26, 2014: Gold etching on small boxes and vases.  Water based nontoxic etching powder will be used.

March 22-29, 2014: Large porcelain tile subject to be announced.  Painted with china paints.

April 5-6. 2014: Faberge Style porcelain egg and egg box.  Enamel and 14K gold will be used.

Mary at St. Lawrence GalleryPorcelain artist Mary Belle Cordell gave a talk and demonstration about china painting at the St Lawrence Gallery, 3556 N. Ocean Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Fl 33308. Her talk included the use and mixing of china paints, samples of her work at different stages of painting and firing in a kiln was explained. The use of brushes and painting oils were also discussed. The porcelain painting discussion of this fine art was well received and the proceeds of this event went to the Heart Gallery of Broward County.

The last quarter of porcelain painting classes will begin on Friday morning, April 23, 2010 at the Boca Museum the Art School, 801 West Palmetto Park Road,Boca Raton, Fl  33486 and continue until the end of May, 2010.
Beginning and advanced china painters attend this fun class. There is a special bond between china painters and they become good friends. Many of my students have completed tiles for their homes, Lemoges boxes, framed art work and beautiful vases. You may view some of these students on my website.
