The National League of American Pen Women member show is on exhibit at Bailey Hall at Broward College, 3501 SW Davie Road, Davie Florida. Mary Belle will be showing five of her portraits of women painted on porcelain.The theme of the show is Celebrating women in the Arts. Her porcelain painting of “The Queen” won best in the show last year in this prestigious exhibit.
Holiday Magic, Festival of Trees Soiree and Program:This year was the first year the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens hosted the Festival of Trees.The beautiful historic home and gardens were filled with holiday decorations. Mary Belle donated a Victorian Christmas tree that was displayed in this beautiful setting. Her tree was decorated with 100 hand painted porcelain ornaments. Each ornament was painted with china paints, fused glass, and 14K gold. The tree was auctioned off and found a wonderful home in Fort Lauderdale.
Mary Belle Cordell will be one of the featured artists to be published in the Art Hive Magazine. She will be a part of a select group of artists who will be showcased in the “DBA: Chrysalis: A Time of Change” exhibit sponsored by the Broward County Commissioners and the Broward County. Mary Belle Cordell will be exhibiting her porcelain painting of Azaleas in the Karpe/es Manuscript Library Museum at 101 W 1st street in Jacksonville, Fl. The museum features original manuscripts of science, art and literature in a Neoclassical building.
Mary Belle was in a program about Vinnie Ream which was sponsored by the National League of American Pen Women. Mary Belle is a member, past president and National Art Chairmen of this group of inspired women. Vinnie Ream was 18 years old when she sculpted, in marble, the statue of Abraham Lincoln that is exhibited in the Capital in Washington D. C. This very talented woman was a member of the Pen Women.
The Pen Women have collected many historic papers about Vinnie Ream that will be exhibited along with selected fine art. The exhibit will take place from Sept 3, 2016, until October 30, 2016 . Opening reception: September 9, 2016, from 5-8 PM Address: 101 W 1st Street, Jacksonville, Fl 32206.
Mary belle will be showing six of her porcelain art paintings at Studio 18 in the Pines. The theme of the show is “Through Women’s Eyes.” Her latest paintings are titled Metamorphosis #2 and Poppies #1#2#3. These paintings show butterflies from beginning to end and Poppies in different stages of blooming in different colors. Art Boca Raton is a new contemporary art fair from the organizers of Art Palm Beach. International galleries were exhibiting modern, contemporary and emerging art in March 18-21, 2016. Daily lectures on collecting , film screenings, artist presentations and art tours of FAU University Art Galleries were available to attendees.
