Mary Belle Cordell was one of the featured artists at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church Art Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. Her porcelain painting of Christ on the Road and different floral paintings were shown in this juried show for several months.Thousands of people attend this church and view this art work.

Mary Belle Cordell is showing her paintings and porcelain pendants at the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association in Blue Ridge Ga.The art center presents contemporary and multi-cultural arts. This beautiful center is located in the Fannin Co Courthouse which is on the National registry of Historic buildings in downtown Blue Ridge. She was juried into their National art show and her work was on display for several months. The beauty of the mountains draws thousands of people to this area every year.
Palette Knife Painting: Introduction: The transparent enamel is mixed with 50% china paint to achieve the proper color. The powder mixture is mixed with a fast drying oil. When mixing the colored china paints with the base for gold enamel use three times more enamel that china paints. The more china paint You use the darker the color will be. All of the colors should be mixed and ready to go before beginning this project. The palette knife to be used should be long pointed and flexible.The only brush you will use on this project is a pointer brush. The medium pointer brush will be used for details such as trees and grass, etc A rubber tipped wipe out tool is used in the enamel for detail and hi-lights This project will be painted on a 9 X 12 tile and fired in a kiln at 1700 degrees. Clean up is easy with Turpinoid non-turpentine brush cleaner. This one-day work shop will be fun for beginning and advanced students The class may be scheduled in the Fall season at the Boca Museum Art School. Storm on the Beach
Mary Belle Cordell was informed that two of her porcelain paintings have been accepted in the 12th Annual art Competition sponsored by the city of Pembroke Pines. The artwork will b exhibited at studio 18 in the Pines located at 1101 Poinciana Drive, Pembroke Pines, Fl. ” Storm at Sunset” and “Poppy Number One” are the names of the artwork accepted into this show. The city of Pembroke Pines Arts Culture Advisory Board was established in 2000 for the expressed purpose of encouraging artistic opportunities to all local artists.
The porcelain painting of Anne has been selected by the 2016 SAAG National Juried Show. There were 300 national entries entered in this show. The artwork selected for this exhibit will be on display in the Richard Low Evans Gallery in the Art Center from October 15- November 12, 2016. Opening reception and awards ceremony is October 15th, 5pm to 7pm. The SAAG National Juried Show attracts several artists from over 25 different states and draws an audience interest from not only a regional level, but from across the country. The art center is located in the historic Court House.

Miss Floral Hair
Marco Polo brought porcelain objects back from his historic travels in China but it was not until 1708 that the technique of porcelain painting was discovered in Europe. Mary Belle Cordell teaches this unique art at the Boca Museum the Art School.
Luminous translucent oil based paints are used and fired at 1400 degrees in a kiln to produce each fine art piece of porcelain.

Mary Belle Cordell will be exhibiting her porcelain painting of Azaleas in the Karpe/es Manuscript Library Museum at 101 W 1st street in Jacksonville, Fl. The museum features original manuscripts of science, art and literature in a Neoclassical building.
Mary Belle was in a program about Vinnie Ream which was sponsored by the National League of American Pen Women. Mary Belle is a member, past president and National Art Chairmen of this group of inspired women. Vinnie Ream was 18 years old when she sculpted, in marble, the statue of Abraham Lincoln that is exhibited in the Capital in Washington D. C. This very talented woman was a member of the Pen Women.

this class for a supply fee which is charged by the teacher each semester. You may paint on tiles, plates, small vases or trays, etc. Come and enjoy this fun class with other fun students.
