20-Plate Porcelain Plateinstallation by Mary Belle Cordell

 

MaryBelle Cordell was one of the eight artists who were selected as one of south Florida’s top rising artists. A graduate of the Artist as  Entrepreneur Institute she has applied business skills that were learned to create her own vehicle for artistic success. Mary Belle was part of an all-media art exhibit highlighting new work from these talented entrepreneurs. Her installation of twenty ten inch plates painted with 18th Century flowers was part of the exhibit. Her video of the process of painting the porcelain plates over a year long period was shown during the exhibit. The DBA Chrysalis a Time of Change exhibit was held at ArtServe, 1350 Sunrise Blvd Fort Lauderdale ,Fl.

Mary Belle Cordell will be one of the featured artists to be published in the Art Hive Magazine. She will be a part of a select group of artists who will be showcased in the “DBA: Chrysalis: A Time of Change” exhibit sponsored by the Broward County Commissioners and the Broward County. Once again I have been contacted to coordinate a paint tiles event and to be on the committee for the Wall of Hope at the Lynn Cancer Institute in Boca Raton.  The Lynn Cancer Institute is number 18 in the state of Florida in cancer treatment and research. Lynn Cancer Institute has a huge program each year for cancer patients, survivors and anyone who is willing to help in the fight against cancer. On June 4, 2017, there will be an early morning five K run and then several hundred patients, volunteers, and family members paint tiles. The tiles are then installed and displayed on the walls of the Lynn Cancer Institute. The Boca Museum the Art School has played an important part in this program since 2012. .Mary Belle Cordell is happy to be woking with Vivian Zadkovich and the team at the Lynn Cancer institute in Boca Raton Florida.

Art work Submitted to Marietta Cob Museum of Art, Atlanta Street SE, Marietta, Ga 20060. The name of the National show is Metro Montage XVII. The gallery and museum is located in a restored court house on the square in Marietta Georgia.I love these old historical restored buildings.I feel that my porcelain art work belongs in these lovely old galleries.

Bailey Hall-Broward College,” Celebrating Women in The Art”  The National league of American Pen Women sponsored this large show. Twenty-five professional women artists displayed ninety pieces of art.  Mary  Belle won BEST in Show for her small porcelain portrait of” The Queen”. Sometimes the little painting wins. Bailey-Hall-Broward College is located at 3501 Davie Rd, Davie, Fl 33314, Opening reception March 16th, public welcome.

Mary Belle will be teaching china painting at the Boca Museum the Art School. The china painting classes are held on  Fridays from 9:00 until 12;00.New students are always welcome. Beginning and advanced china painters are welcome. Mary Belle was selected to be in the” Making new Impressions,” art show in the Carl Weinhardt Gallery at Bonnet House Museum and Gardens in Fort Lauderdale Fl. The Bonnet House is the show place to see when visiting Fort Lauderdale Her porcelain paintings of The Peach and the portrait of the Lady With the Floral Hair were well accepted in this show. The painting will be there for several months.

Mary Belle Cordell will be painting product test pieces for Marabu Mixed Media Encaustic Paint Co.She will be painting with their Glass, enviironmentallyPorcelain and Ceramic non firing paints .Marabu paints are made in environmentally friendly. The company has been in business foe 150 years. Almost all of their 20,000 products are water based and user friendly. Mary Belle is especially interested in the Glas and Porcelain products which are air dried and heated in you home oven. No firing in a kiln is required and the painting will be permanent.She will be painting on glass vases, plates and porcelain tiles and ceramic tiles.More information to come about this project.
